Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
For the first time ever , my Comune has sent me [at my UK address] my bill for the second payment of IMU and TASI for 2015. Previously I have had to use an on-line calculator for these taxes
Payment required by 16/12/2015
Have signed the F24 form supplied by the Comune, scanned it, and sent it to my Italian Bank for payment
Thought it would be useful reminder to others, that theirs will also be due this month

Thanks Alan. Great to hear this. My Commune is Cermignano. Should I email them to send bills. They know me personally but have never offered this. Worth a try. Will let you all know how I get on.

Is there an easy way to pay the IMU from the UK?

Our local geometra calculates our IMU and tells our daughter how much it is but we get about 24 hours to meet the deadline! We can't get notification and form sent to the UK so they go to our daughter who lives in the same comune area. We used to email our bank manager in Italy to authorise payment from our account; however, our new bank manager isn't quite so helpful. Is there a way I can pay online from the UK using a UK bank account? I saw that someone in the forum managed to do this. Our local comune doesn't 'do' bank transfer payments (it's tiny) - you have to take the money for the local tax to the Post Office - but the IMU is more of a government tax, so is there a central account/system for paying it? We're exasperated with a system that makes it impossible to pay on time.
Any help would be most welcome.

If you have an Italian bank account and online banking then you can pay it using an F24 via your online banking. That is by far the easiest way to pay it from abroad.

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
ShielaT,
Its easy to calculate IMU and TASi on websites such as;-
http://www.amministrazionicomunali.it/imutasi/calcolo_imu_tasi.php
All you need is the Rendita value for your property [on sales documentation], and assume TASI Aliquote is 1%
Play around on the site to see if you get the same answers as your Geometra
When you are happy with how the site works, including printing out the F24 for, you can [next year] print the form, sign it, email it to your daughter, send her [via bank transfer] the cash and she can pay it at her bank for you

Ghiro, it's not your comune that do it online. The site alan H mentions is for ALL comuni. My ex prints out the completed F24 and faxes it to his bank and they make the payment from his bank account for him.

Ghiro if you have online Banking for your Italian Bank then you can easily do it online by filling out the details on their F24 section and then you set the date you want it paid.

Okey dokey. Thanks Flip. I do most of my stuff online in the UK but have hitherto been unconvinced that systems in Italy are equally advanced.

Hello it's that time of year again...IMU due 16.06.2016
Please could someone confirm what rate we should use? When I enter our commune, 0.2% comes up . See bottom of screenshot. We've always paid 7.6%. Have we overpaid or do we add 0.2% to the base rate of 7.6%?

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
It says the information for your comune is not available so you have to check here
If there is nothing for 2016 then you use the rates for 2015.

For the first time ever ...
[apart from December last year, when they had to let people know what they owed because the rate wasn't set in time for the June 2015 payment]
............our Comune has sent out completed F24 forms [for June 2016 and December2016] to everyone. Mine was sent to my UK address.
Signed the June one - scanned it and emailed it to my Italian Bank. F24 paid and confirmatory receipt emailed to me.
Simples ................ [Let hope they do it again next year]

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
Wow, if only all comunes did that, they would get so much more revenue in! I just do not understand what benefit it is to make everything so difficult to do !
I suppose a step in the right direction.

I actually wonder whether the Comune found that revenue increased/came in quicker after last December's letters, so they decided to send the F24s out this year as well - but whatever the reason, it does make life simpler

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
Grazie mille Penny. I'll pay the same amount as December 2015.
@Alan...for the first time ever, we received a water bill which was sent to our address in the UK. Ok it was for 2012 but it's progress. Also means that the commune has changed our address as I sent them an email last year and asked them to confirm and acknowledge change of address but they never did.
@vicino...so agree...99% of people want to pay their bills...it's just so frustrating & time consuming having to 'guess' amounts and/or chase up the commune

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
I went to the comune yesterday to pay my IMU only to discover 'smiler' Mario had the day off. Apparently he's now only there on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings (cost cutting?).
I returned this morning only to find all 7 chairs outside his office occupied by other people waiting to see him. So I decided to leave and eventually pay the fine.
Why, oh why, can't I pay my IMU online? Or even just get the bill?

Monique look here:
http://www.servizipubblicaamministrazione.it/Siti/pgn498/AlboPretorio/2016/2016-000155-1.PDF
Think you should check in with them when you arrive you might have some back payments to make.

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
Apologies to one and all ! I think I may have missed a payment but I am not sure !
I am a full time resident here in Italy and have paid the second installment of the TARI (rubbish) tax at our local post office.
I have NOT paid any IMU tax this year(2016) because I beleive that as we are in our principal residence, we do not have to pay it. Is this correct ?
TASI tax....................can someone remind me again what this one is AND more importantly should I be paying it ? I haven't by the way, as yet !
Thanks in advance,
V

If it's your main home and not a luxury one then no IMU or TASI this year is payable.

Re: Reminder. IMU and TASI. - Due 16th December 2015
P, Thanks a lot !! Such a quick turnaround ! We are a category A7, we like it but not a 'luxury'. I suddenly had this thing in my head whereby I thought oooh............IMU, don't pay, TARI, sorted....aargh........TASI !!!!
I forgot about the TASI !!
I'll pour a glass of wine and relax again !
Thanks again,
V
