Pet Insurance
I am considering taking out some pet insurance if possible. Does anyone here insure their pets, if so, which company and approx cost. Many thx.

Re: Pet Insurance
Best advice Anngela is consult your vet, the one you would likely use in any event and see what he/she recomends, as many Vets here do not accept direct payment from Insurance companies as they are often reluctant to pay out (you don't say). Our freind who is a Vet says that they will charge a lot less if an individual is having their pet treated than if it is to be paid by an Insurance Policy.

Re: Pet Insurance
Doesn't help you Angela, but may be of interest to others. We have pet insurance in the UK from Aviva and it covers our dog for six months abroad. As we ensure we are here for less than six months a year it is ideal for us.
We had to claim two years ago, after only having paid one premium of eight pounds. Newish puppy was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. They paid out over six hundred pounds with no problem at all.
For all pet insurances we have always paid the vet/specialist direct and then claimed it back.

Yes, my husband is currently a vet in the US and this is how it works here as well with all pet insurance companies.
