UNICO 2015 Do-it-yourself
I just paid quite a bit of money to have my tax return done by an accountant.
The form itself seems fairly straight forward. The main problem seems to be in understanding the rules that are changing all the time.
My previous accountant for UNICO 2014 made some mistakes so he had problems too.
I guess if you do it yourself then any mistake might result in a fine or worse an investigation.
I wonder if anybody has done their own tax return?

Yes we have - well paid the tax anyway and have until September to file the return online. Like you, got a bit fed up shelling out for the accountant on what is a very straightforward income return.

Thanks for that.
I guess that all rules for 2015 are contained in Agenzia delle Entrate web page.....
Modello e istruzioni Unico Pf/2015
But where do you obtain the exchange rates for 2014?

We just used the BBC average rate of exchange for the year which came out at 1.235

Re: UNICO 2015 Do-it-yourself
My accountant used two exchange rates for initial(Jan) and final(Dec) values. One for the beginning of the year 0.826743 and one for the end of the year 0.7883. (Euro/Sterling conversion).
I think the values are coming from Banca di Italia - Cambi Mensili
Where for example interest was paid mid year he used the rate for that month. Very complicated!
In UNICO 2014 he only used one exchange rate for everything.

When I do it, each intrastat purchase needs the exchange rate on the date of invoice.

I'm sure they will have some access to data they officially use e.g. Banca de Italia, might be worth a look on their site. Also sites like XE here give historic mid market historic data going back 10 years if that's any use.
