New Pellet Stove legislation.
We have just today had our annual service on our wood Pellet stuffa and our Engineer says that there is new legislation (equate that to 'Money gathering opportunity') re all installed Pellet Stoves.
Now one must have a registered engineer service it and register it with the Comune along with ones Cadastral number so that they can ''Inspect'' them at random to ascertain their safety, along with this the Engineer must vouch that the Stuffa is safe and complies with all Safety Standards' regarding ventilation and emissions.
Apparently we will need to install an air vent to allow air to be drawn into the room if all windows and doors are closed.
Does anyone have or know if this is a requirement and if so what criteria does one need to fulfill.

Re: New Pellet Stove legislation.
Can believe it Flip, The internal air vent, is probably another safety factor. End of last year, they said all heat pumps had to be registered and with low output units they have to have a 4 year check which is recorded.
Just wait for refrigerators next. Amazing Italy as always!!!

I'm sure the Italian neighbours will all comply with whatever the Comune say...

Yeah Geo, it seems as the have someone sat in a back room somewhere, think of the most tenuous legislation they can think of, on the premise to keep some people in the Comunes in a job. Our Engineer also said that they (Government presumably) were also looking at Wood Burners and tightening regulations on the siting and sales of those..... we'll all end up sitting round a Nonno's tongue whilst he sucks an Extra Strong Mint

Yes here it's called 'Bollo Blue' €100+ every 2 years I think and mainly for gas boilers but covers all things over a certain power output. Folks with wood burning stoves ignore this it seems
