cheap ferry crossing
I just had to share this news with all you continental roamers. I recently booked a Newhaven - Dieppe ferry with DFDS... and because I did it on the phone I was told that old chaps like me can have 20% off. Always.
With car hire at £500 a week in the summer it looks like a no brainer to drive out ... a couple of camping stops on the way (next to fab restaurants) and it is all very easy and pleasant.

Very helpful Sagralasolar. Thank you.
And for those with pets you might like to know that Brittany Ferries has a 'pet friendly' sailing between Portsmouth & Le Havre. You can book a cabin and keep your pet with you.
I believe on all other ferry crossings your pet has to remain locked in your car.

Now that I’ve got round to signing in I’d like to thank Sagrasiolar for the information on the Dieppe ferry.
